Endurance swimmer Diana Nyad is making her third attempt to swim from Cuba to Florida, despite being stung by a jellyfish several hours into her journey. Nyad cleaned off the tentacles, changed her swimsuit, and put on a shirt for protection before she continued. The 62-year-old swimmer expects to make the trip, which is over 100 miles, in about 60 hours. Her last attempt, in August, ended after 29 hours of swimming when she suffered a shoulder injury and an asthma attack. She first attempted the swim in 1978. That time she lasted 42 hours in the water before strong currents and bad weather forced her to call it off.
