A large fire broke out at the Magnablend, Inc., facility in Waxahachie, Texas, while workers were mixing chemicals. It is not known what chemicals were involved. The plant’s sprinkler system was unable to contain the fire, and the flames destroyed a fire truck, but no injuries were reported. The 1,000 evacuated residents of the town will likely be allowed back into their homes, as crews are expected to have the fire under control by late afternoon. Magnablend, Inc. manufactures about 200 products, some of which are hazardous when ignited, but the EPA said that air quality readings in the city did not require further action. A fire department spokesperson said, “It’s the building that’s burning, and there’s chemicals inside, multiple kinds of chemicals. Saying which would be kind of speculative.”
