It seems News Corp. investors aren't pleased with Rupert Murdoch's handling of his company's multiple scandals. Two shareholder groups are trying to rally investors to vote the Murdoch family off the board. "We have a battle on our hands to demonstrate the strength of shareholder opposition because so many shares are held by the family or by people affiliated with the family," said the director of Hermes Equity Ownership Services. In addition to demanding the ouster of Rupert and his sons James and Lachlan, Hermes is withholding support for the reelection of directors Arthur Siskind and Andrew Knight because of doubts about their independence. Earlier this week, Institutional Shareholder Services Inc. said the Murdochs and 10 other News Corp. directors should leave.
