Despite previously planning to withdraw from Libya by Oct. 31, NATO has postponed an official decision on whether to end bombing in the North African country. Some members of the international group have expressed concern that withdrawing too quickly would reignite violence within Libya, especially after the death of Muammar Gaddafi. It was NATO’s airstrikes that allowed the Libyan rebels to take control of the capital. At this point the no-fly zone is being maintained in order to protect Libyans.
