Despite his slip-ups in recent debates, Texas governor Rick Perry feels he could do well in a debate against President Obama. “I’m not worried a bit that I’ll be able to stand on the stage with Barack Obama and draw a very bright line,” he said. He also defended his tax stance against reports that his flat-tax proposal would result in the loss of trillions of dollars in revenue. He said, “There’s nothing wrong with lower revenue. I don’t want more revenue in Washington, D.C.’s hands. I want more revenue in the private-sector job creators’ hands.” With Herman Cain leading the polls in Iowa, it seems as though Perry has a long way to go.
