Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain said Tuesday that while he is taking the sexual-harassment allegations against him “seriously,” he does not remember ever meeting accuser Sharon Bialek. In an interview with ABC and Yahoo News, Cain said the allegations “are disturbing to me,” and he said he had “taken them seriously,” but “there is absolutely no basis to them.” Cain said the allegations had an “emotional impact” on him and his family, and his wife, Gloria, is “angry about it.” While Cain did not mention Bialek by name, he said he did not remember meeting her and said he never acted inappropriately with anyone. Cain is expected to address the sexual-harassment allegations in a press conference Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile, his campaign emailed supporters attacking Bialek as having a “long and troubled history.”
