More details are emerging about the dramatic rescue of Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos, who was freed following a dramatic gunfight between police and his captors. He was found in Montalban, Venezuela, about 50 hours after being abducted, roughly 40 miles from his family’s home in Valencia. Police are holding three people in connection with his abduction, but the reasons for the abduction are still unclear—his captors did not contact his family with any demands. Shortly after his release, Ramos told a crowd, “Thank God, I’m alive and here at home. I thank you for everything. I don’t have words to express all that I feel, and how thankful I am for all your help. Thank you, for real. I really love you.”
