Pundits have been sounding the alarm that the supercommittee assigned with reaching a debt reduction strategy may not end well, and The Washington Post’s Ezra Klein says it may be even worse than a stalemate: Republicans are not only refusing to compromise, but they’re also trying to suspend the rules of the agreement that would lead to defense cuts if the committee failed. “The supercommittee might not just end without reaching a deal.
