Firefighters are still struggling to contain a blaze that started just after midnight on Thursday in a rural region outside Reno, Nevada. Officials went door-to-door in the middle of the night and early morning forcing the evacuation of some 10,000 residents in the direct path of the 400-acre wildfire. So far the blaze has torched 20 homes and claimed the life of at least one person, and firefighters have had difficulty keeping up with the flames, which are being blown by winds as high as 60 mile per hour. The Federal Emergency Management Agency has declared the fire a major disaster, and officials estimate that it could continue to rage through Saturday.
