On the left, The Daily Beast's Michael Tomasky looks at a new Center for American Progress paper that shows an increase in voters among minorities, college-educated whites, and working-class whites: “Demographically, everything is moving Obama’s way.” Hang on, though, because conservative columnist Michael Medved points to new Gallup polling that shows the Democratic Party is attracting more single, secular Americans. “As a party overwhelmingly comprised of churchgoers and married people, the Republicans not only mirror the nation at large ... but, more importantly, connect to nearly universal American aspirations.” Which trend will be more important in 2012?
