A magnitude-5.9 earthquake struck near Japan’s Fukushima nuclear-power plant early Thursday morning, the same nuclear plant crippled by a tsunami earlier this year. There have been no reports of damage, and the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has not issued an alert. The quake hit 62 miles from the plant, 23 miles below the surface. There have been several powerful quakes in the region since the magnitude-9.0 one earlier this year.
