This sounds like a Thanksgiving travel nightmare. More than 100 vehicles were disabled along a stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Tuesday night when a tar-like substance leaked from a tanker truck. The sticky, gooey driveway sealant leaked onto the tires and wheels on vehicles driving east on the turnpike, damaging them to the point where they could no longer move—causing traffic to slow to a standstill behind them. A spokesman for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission said crews were out Tuesday night to clean up the mess, but the toll-free help line set up by the commission was reportedly malfunctioning.
