Dominique Strauss-Kahn is telling his side. In a new book due to be published Thursday in France called Affaires DSK: La Contre-enquête (DSK Affairs: The Counter-Investigation) by DSK biographer and confidant Michel Taubmann, the disgraced French politician and former IMF chief provides his version of the infamous May 14 incident in the Times Square Sofitel's room 2806. According to excerpts provided Wednesday by the weekly glossy Paris Match and recapped by Reuters, Strauss-Kahn called his sexual relations with chambermaid Nafissatou Diallo “consensual but stupid.” Taubmann writes that Diallo gave the would-be French presidential candidate—just out of the shower and naked—a look that he took to be an invitation to quick, consensual sex. Strauss-Kahn saw criminal attempted-rape charges against him in the case dropped but still faces a civil suit. DSK, who has also been embroiled in a prostitution-ring scandal in France, admits to participating in sex parties, but tells Taubmann in the book that he abhors prostitution.
