Six U.S. soldiers were identified by the Department of Defense Saturday after they were killed earlier this week in a helicopter crash in an area of southern Afghanistan thought to be free of enemy activity. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and may have been the result of a malfunction or other error, a NATO spokesman said Friday. The crash is the worst since last August, when a Taliban attack on a helicopter claimed the lives of 30 American soldiers and eight Afghans.
