A new poll by the American Research Group finds that Rick Santorum is currently beating Mitt Romney in his home state. Of Michigan’s likely Republican-primary voters, 33 percent plan on voting for Santorum, and 27 percent support Romney—who grew up in the Midwest state, where his father also served as governor. Michigan’s primary is next on the roster, sharing the spotlight with Arizona on Feb. 28. Despite having won the Michigan primary in 2008, it looks like Romney will be given a run for his money by Santorum, who is favorable among the strong Catholic and working-class communities along the Rust Belt.
