Goldman Sachs is having a bad week: first a former employee resigned through an op-ed in The New York Times, and now one of its employees is being accused of leaking private information. A lawyer for Rajat Gupta, a Goldman executive, said Friday in a pretrial hearing for Gupta that a Goldman person leaked confidential information about the company and Galleon Group, Raj Rajaratnam’s hedge fund. Gupta is caught up in the sting that took down Rajaratnam, who is serving an 11-year sentence for allegedly giving his former friend information about Goldman and Procter & Gamble between 2007 and 2009. Gupta denies that he passed secrets, and his lawyer said in court on Friday that another Goldman employee was caught on tape leaking Apple and Intel secrets to Rajaratnam.
