Senate hopeful Ron Barber may be running uncontested in Arizona’s June special election to replace his longtime boss Gabrielle Giffords. Fellow Democrats bowed out to make way for the former Giffords staffer. But he won’t run unopposed for long. At least two Democrats already plan to run in the regular election for a full term this fall, presenting a primary challenge to Barber. “I’m supporting Ron to replace Gabby for the rest of the term,” said state Sen. Paula Aboud, one of the candidates. “But I’m moving forward, and I am focused on the new district in the fall.”
