Lenny Curry, Florida’s Republican Party chairman, is ready for the primary process to end and thinks the national party should accept Mitt Romney as its nominee. “Some of the conventional wisdom has been that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have been doing this through June and that made him a better candidate, but there was no incumbent running that time,” Curry told BuzzFeed. “It’s important to coalesce behind a nominee as soon as possible,” he said, adding that, while he won’t formally endorse anyone until after the primary, he thinks Romney “has made the case—the other candidates had their shot.
