The shoot-’em-up tough-guy flick Gangster Squad is due to be reshot and re-edited after a sequence in the film drew comparisons to the shooting in Aurora, Colorado. The film, which stars Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, and Emma Stone, was due to be released in theatres in September. But now the tale of 1940s Los Angeles wise guys has had its debut pushed back to January. The film’s original climax was a scene in which Tommy-gun toting gangsters emerged from behind a movie theater screen, firing into the civilian crowd. The scene is said to have been key to the plot of the film, and substantial reworking of the movie may be in order.
