A tip-off that a kidnapping victim was in a Queens garage has led to the suspension of an NYPD detective, law-enforcement officials said Saturday. Ondre Johnson of the New York City police force was taken into custody and suspended from duty after a 25-year-old kidnapping victim was being held for ransom in the garage behind his house, police say. Johnson, who has spent 17 years with the NYPD and worked with the gang unit in Brooklyn, claimed to know nothing about what was going on in the garage, which he shares with his cousin. The police veteran has not been charged, but has badge and gun were taken, police said.
