Zakaria Reinstated at CNN, Time

HE’S BACK!

Well that was quick. Both CNN and Time have announced they will be reinstating Fareed Zakaria, who was suspended last week for plagiarism. The writer and TV host had apparently used a chunk of Jill Lepore’s New Yorker article on gun control in his regular column for Time magazine without citing the original author. Both outlets investigated the incident and decided it was isolated enough for him to come back to work. Zakaria apologized for the journalistic misstep and will resume hosting his weekly GPS program on CNN August 26. His Time column will restart beginning with the September 7 issue.
