President Obama’s surprise “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) Q&A with the social platform Reddit on Wednesday proved so popular it crashed the site. Now, Reddit’s founder, Alexis Ohanian, wants his site to be an “expected campaign stop,” he tells The Atlantic Wire, and has extended an offer to Mitt Romney to participate in an AMA as well. Social media is “generating content that’s competitive and in some cases even more popular than traditional media,” he says. The New Yorker would also like for 2013’s mayoral candidates to do Q&A sessions for the site’s NYC Subreddit.
