American journalist James Foley has been missing in Syria for more than a month, according to a statement released by his family Wednesday. The 39-year-old had been contributing videos from Syria’s civil war to Agence France-Press when he was kidnapped by gunmen on Thanksgiving Day, the statement said. The family is attempting to get whoever has Foley to contact them “so we can work together towards his release.” AFP is also working to bring Foley home. “He is a professional journalist who is absolutely neutral in this conflict,” the news agency’s chairman said.
