Hopefully this will live up to the Republicans’ expectations. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will testify Wednesday in front of a joint House and Senate panel investigating her agency’s actions following the attack on the consulate in Benghazi that killed the U.S. ambassador and three others. Clinton is expected to say that the State Department is moving forward with recommendations to avoid a repeat attack. She has already accepted full responsibility for the findings of the bipartisan Accountability Review Board, which found her office to be guilty of “systematic failures and leadership and management deficiencies” in a report last month. Republicans have eagerly awaited the chance to question Clinton, and have made it a prerequisite before confirming Sen. John Kerry as her replacement.
