Even though their brackets are messed up, Georgetown fans can take heart that their team was beat in the first round of Florida Gulf Coast’s Cinderella story. Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday night became the first 15 seed to advance to the Sweet 16 round in the NCAA tournament with an 81–71 win over seventh-seed San Diego State. “We don’t take ourselves too seriously,” said FGC coach Andy Enfield after the win. “Our goal was to make history and we did it.” Meanwhile, second seed Ohio State survived as the lone favorite in its bracket, eking out a 78–75 win with a three-pointer at the buzzer against Iowa State. Although top seed Gonzaga’s loss could have struck fear in the hearts of top-seed fans everywhere, Kansas overtook the University of North Carolina 70–58, and Indiana beat Temple 58–52.
