All he needed was a little prodding from John McCain. Republican Sen. Marco Rubio said that he was “very optimistic” that Congress would be able to pass a bill for comprehensive immigration reform this week. McCain had indirectly scolded Rubio a week ago for not acting fast enough to move the legislation. But on the Sunday talk-show circuit, Rubio was all about the deal. The bill does include a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.
