Investigators are slowly beginning to learn a bit about what motivated the Boston bombing suspects. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev told investigators that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan motivated him and his brother to place bombs at the Boston Marathon, officials told The Washington Post. Investigators say the brothers appear to have “self-radicalized,” learned about bomb making from the Internet, and carried out the attacks without help from outside terrorist groups. Dzhokhar, who was charged yesterday with setting off a weapon of mass destruction, remains hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the neck. Yesterday the only word he spoke was “no,” when asked whether he could afford a lawyer.
