South Korea's defense ministry announced on Saturday that three short-range missiles had been fired by its neighbor to the north. As it is with any activities from the world's most high-profile hermit kingdom, their intention is unknown. North Korea reportedly fired two missiles Saturday morning and one in the afternoon, all to the northeast, away from both Japanese and South Korean territory. The South Korean defense ministry is refraining from speculating whether the missiles were part of a test or training exercise.
