Large explosions and gunfire erupted at Kabul airport Monday morning. The attack began at 4:30 a.m. and targeted the military side of the airport, which houses the U.S.-led NATO coalition headquarters. Police spokesman Hashmat Stanikzai said that insurgents appear to have taken cover in a building under construction in an effort to target the airport, which is also used by NATO transport aircraft.
