Justin Rose came out ahead of Phil Mickelson for his first major championship win on Sunday when he took the U.S. Open title. Despite suffering through two bogeys and a brief downpour of rain, the 32-year-old South Africa native maintained his lead over Mickelson, who was relegated to a disappointing second-place finish for the sixth time at the Open. It could have been worse for Mickelson though—he could have been Tiger Woods, who finished at 13 over par, his worst score in an Open since he was an amateur in 1996.
