Despite a string of tearful apologies, Paula Deen hasn't been able to prevent her sponsors from running for the door. On Thursday QVC announced it would be dropping Deen from its programming and products. CEO Mike George wrote in a statement online that the company is “troubled by what Paula has acknowledged saying.” Deen responded on her blog that she has “some important things to work on right now, both personally and professionally.” The Food Network, Target, Walmart, and other former partners have already dropped Deen. But all is not lost, Paula. George describes the separation as “a pause” and notes that “people deserve second chances.”
