California's wildfire season raged on on Wednesday, when a fire raced through several mountain communities in Riverside County, destroying homes and forcing residents to flee. Dubbed the Silver Fire, it was reported at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. By 5:30 p.m., it had burned 5,000 acres, said the Riverside County Fire Department. "It exploded this afternoon, really due to the fact that conditions are critically dry across California," spokesman for Cal Fire Daniel Berlant said.Two firefighters and one civilian have been injured and more than 100 homes are in danger.
