TOP 10 RIGHT NOW
Skywatchers, look out this weekend. The Perseid meteor shower is set to light up the nights of August 11-12 and 12-13. The show could peak at 50 meteoroids—hailing from the constellation Perseus and hitting our atmosphere at 200,000 kilometers per hour—flying through the sky each hour in incredible bursts. The shower annually produces more fireballs than any other, and it's recommended to view between 10:30 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. for the best meteor-watching.
