Minutes after President Obama delivered a 15-minute speech to the nation justifying why he believes the U.S. must take action in Syria, responses from politicians and pundits trickled in. First up was Sen. Rand Paul, who took to Fox News to say that the president's speech “didn't quite convince” him. “I think what he needed to lay out for the public was a compelling American interest or national security interest in Syria,” said Paul. Republican National Committee chair Reince Priebus was critical of not only the speech but the entire administration’s handling of Syria, calling it in a statement “so haphazard it’s disappointed even the president's most ardent supporters.”
