Photo-sharing social site Instagram announced to its 150 million users it has “big ideas for the future,” namely to put ads in its feed. The move, long expected by tech watchers and dreaded by users, was announced in a company blog post. “In the next couple months, you may begin seeing an occasional ad in your Instagram feed if you’re in the United States. Seeing photos and videos from brands you don’t follow will be new, so we’ll start slow,” the statement read. Further, the company hopes its new targeted ads are “enjoyable and creative.”
