Police arrested 8 Democratic congressmen at a rally for immigration reform in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday. Rep. John Lewis, Joe Crowley, Raul Grijalva, Luis Gutierrez, Jan Schakowsky, Keith Ellison, Al Green, and Charlie Rangel were among around a hundred activists staging a peaceful sit-in, blocking a street in front of the Capitol. Thousands more protestors showed up as part of a pro-immigration reform rally planned by El Camino Americano and designed to pressure lawmakers into beginning negotiations on comprehensive immigration reform. It is unclear whether the congressmen or any of the protestors arrested will face any charges.
