Seven foreign aid workers were abducted in northwestern Syria, the International Committee of the Red Cross said on Sunday. Six of those kidnapped were Red Cross workers and the other is a Red Crescent volunteer. Syrian state media earlier Sunday that gunmen had opened fire on Red Cross staff in the Idlib province, and the ICRC said it had no contact with the gunmen. Meanwhile, two car bombs exploded in central Damascus on Sunday in what the state news agency called a suicide attack. There is no word yet on causalities.
