At least one person was killed and eight injured when several small bombs exploded in front of the Communist Party building in the northern Chinese city of Taiyan on Wednesday, state media reported. The reason for the attack is still unclear. Chinese media photos showed smoke filling the street where the office is located and vehicles with windows blown out. Xinhua, the country’s official news agency, reported that residents scattered after the blasts. Wednesday’s attack occurs just one week after three people drove a car into Tienanmen Square in central Beijing. Top Communist party leaders are expected to meet in Beijing on Saturday.
