At least 10 Egyptian soldiers are dead and dozens more were injured Wednesday when a car bomb exploded near the north Sinai city of el-Arish. No group has taken responsibility for the attack, but the region has grown increasingly unstable since Hosni Mubarak’s ouster in February 2011. The current army-led government launched an offensive against Islamic militants in Sinai in September, and more than 100 members of security forces have been killed in recent months in the region. The soldiers were on their way back to Cairo for leave.
