The death of 17-year-old Kendrick Johnson, who was found dead last year inside a rolled-up gym mat in his school, was the subject of a controversial investigation by police and private investigators. Police concluded it was a freak accident, but Johnson’s family was convinced he was murdered and had his body exhumed—to find his internal organs missing and replaced with newspaper. Now, the family is suing the Harrington Funeral Home, accusing it of fraud, negligence, and intentional mishandling of a corpse. The family also accuses owner Antonio Harrington and his employees of getting rid of the organs “in an effort to interfere with the (parents') investigation.”
