Russia reportedly fired its first shot in Crimea since troops entered the region last week. Approximately a dozen of the Russian forces who had taken control of the Belbek air base in Crimea fired warning shots over unnarmed Ukrainian soldiers. The 300 Ukrainian soliders, who formerly worked at the air base, were protesting the Russian presence and demanded their jobs back. Earlier Tuesday, Russia's ultimatum for Ukraine to surrender two warships passed without action. There was no fighting reported elsewhere in Crimea.
