Official: Pilot Bears Sole Blame

A law-enforcement official involved in the investigation of Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 says the pilot, Capt. Zaharie Ahmad Shah, is believed to be responsible for the flight being taken off course and subsequently disappearing. The anonymous investigator told USA Today that there is no evidence that a passenger tried to hijack the plane or that there was any mechanical failure. He said police believe that Zaharie, 53, “deliberately” diverted the plan, and investigators are speaking with his relatives.
