In Hotlanta, apparently even the priests have tony multi-million dollar residences. Archbishop Wilton Gregory of Atlanta faced criticism from his parishioners for building a $2.2 million, 6,400-square-foot home in the posh neighborhood of Buckhead. Now, he’s apologizing for his greedy ways and may graciously consider selling his mansion. "I failed to consider the impact on the families throughout the archdiocese who, though struggling to pay their mortgages, utilities, tuition and other bills, faithfully respond year after year to my pleas to assist with funding our ministries and services," Gregory said in a letter posted Monday on the website of the archdiocese newspaper. Oddly enough, Gregory was able to afford his lush surrounding thanks to the heir of Gone With the Wind author, Margaret Mitchell. Her nephew Joseph Mitchell donated $15 million to various Catholic charities, which apparently meant a super lux crib for Father Gregory.
