En route to a party at a gravel pit on May 29, 1971, two South Dakota high-school girls, Cheryl Miller and Pamela Jackson, disappeared. Some 42 years later, their car was finally discovered last September, just a half-mile from the final destination. On Wednesday, investigators finally confirmed the identities of the two in the car, and declared that there were no signs of foul play; the girls died in a car accident. Authorities were finally able to find the car thanks to a rainy spring followed by a drought, which uncovered the car.
