On Sunday, pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine presented the seven captured inspectors from the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe in a press conference. Eight were captured when the pro-Russian forces took them hostage three days ago, but one was released on Sunday for medical reasons. The inspectors have diplomatic status and were sent to the region to encourage peace efforts. Although the abducted inspectors appeared to be in good health, captive Colonel Axel Schneider said, “We have no indication when we will be sent home to our countries. We wish from the bottom of our hearts to go back to our nations as soon and as quickly as possible." He said this as armed men in camouflage fatigues guarded him.
