Violence broke out at polls across Iraq on Monday, as militants targeted polling stations where soldiers and security forces were voting, and killed at least 46 people. The attacks are thought to be attempts to discourage voters as the rest of the country casts its ballots Wednesday for the first nationwide elections since the U.S. withdrew its forces in 2011. The brunt of the violence hit a Kurdish town where at least 25 people were killed by a suicide bomber.
