Sir Richard Branson has launched a very apt campaign to convince Dallas Love Field airport to give two open gates to Virgin Atlantic: a public love letter posted to YouTube, of course. After American Airlines was required to relinquish the gates, Virgin stopped their service in Philadelphia in preparation to move to the small airport, but they were quickly met with challengers. Texas-based Southwest, whose presence holds 16 of the 20 gates, wants to add the additional two to their already dominant presence. “No one should have a monopoly on your love,” Branson croons professing that his “virile, young planes are yearning for [Love Field's] runways.” With a website and #LoveToFlyVirgin pushing his cause, Branson’s love may just take flight.
