Five people were killed in the Southern California desert town of Hesperia on Sunday when a van veered directly into oncoming traffic and struck another car. All the victims were in the car that was hit, while the man driving the van suffered only minor injuries. In the gruesome accident, a man and boy were immediately rushed to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead, while a woman and another child had to be pried from the car. It wasn't until they were removed that rescuers realized there was a fifth victim, a boy, who was badly crushed. The cause of the accident has yet to be determined.
