Liberia's former President Charles Taylor is asking to leave his British prison and serve out the rest of his sentence in Rwanda, claiming that being in the U.K. denies him the right to a family life. The 66-year-old father of 15 has filed legal papers saying that serving his sentence in the U.K. breaches his human rights. Taylor’s lawyer also says that Rwanda is a more humane place because “everything is different” in the U.K., from the “freezing cold” to the food. Taylor arrived in the U.K. last October to serve 50 years in jail for charges including terrorism, rape, murder and the use of child soldiers by rebel groups in Sierra Leone.
