A Florida judge ruled on Thursday that the state's recently redrawn congressional map illegally favors Republicans. In particular, two seats in Central Florida, were found to be designed problematically, with one drawn to protect Rep. Corrine Brown and the other benefiting Rep. Daniel Webster and the GOP. The map was redone in 2010 when voters passed the Fair District amendments to make seats more compact and not favor any parties. If the recent ruling is upheld, these will have to be done again.
